China is a large country. Not only has it many many many square meters, but also quite a lot of people living on them. And like anything has a start, China's date is the first of october. Besides Chinese New Years, the first october week is the largest holiday in China. Couple hundred million of people hop into there cars and sit in traffic for ... days. Living in China, but not bound to the Chinese holidays, my family has always avoided heading out on the first week on october. But not this time! We went to the Bund in Shanghai - to go for a walk. As today is already the fourth, we thought we could manage the crowd. But it was nothing we expected. People every. Especially me - living in Zurich for couple of years now - I was not so used to it anymore than when I was still in Shanghai with my parents. But police and military kept things running smooth. I just saw one armed guard and another with a riot shield. The rest was just forming cross walk planks allowing people crossing the road safely. People were selling all kinds of s***.
